Catalina Island is off of the Southern California coast. The view is of the bay of the town of Avalon, a welcoming hamlet with hotels, shops and restaurants. It is a tourist destination and resort. The Wrigley family, creators of Wrigley chewing gum, lived on the island. One of the draws to Catalina Island is the opportunity to see wild bison brought to the island by the Wrigley family to conserve these animals.
