About the Artist

I am a retired teacher who taught in Southern California schools.

I am also an artist and photographer who has been creating art for over thirty years. I trained myself in the skills needed to produce art and photography through practice and perseverance.

I generate art through my illustrations and photography by using vivid colors.  I do this even though I am colorblind. This is because I create vivid pieces through my awareness of color.

About the Illustrations

In my art I use colored pencil, ink and paper to create illustrations with both vibrant colors and subtle tones. I have expanded my sources of inspiration from portraits and landscapes to contemporary pieces. In my portraits I use the geometry of the human face and human form to convey the image I wish to represent. In my landscapes I use colors found in nature to create my art. In my contemporary art pieces I again use pencil, ink and/or digital mediums to enhance illustrations and photographs I want to convert into contemporary art.

About the Photography

Another art form I use is photography; my photographs are an extension of my artistic expression. My photography displays my artistic skills, and allows me to produce images that are stunning and captivating. These works are influenced by the beautiful sunsets, sunrises, and landscapes I have witnessed here in Southern California and in other places I visited. I use photography as my tool to capture all the natural beauty and variations in these settings.
